Lets see what you guys have invested into your savages up to this point? Please select on the poll how much you have into it and give more detail below in a post. Keep this honest and in the poll just select what the savage is worth includding the hop-ups, remotes, and fix's not the tools, & fuel and so on.

This poll is multipal choice so if you have more than 1 truck please select a different amount for each truck unless they are the same value, if so then just post this in a post below.

I'll start I have about $2,000 into my Basher since I got it about 7 months ago and have about $350 I'm my racer that I just bought used about 1 month ago.

probably not the wisest thing to post on the internet for the those who have significant others but oh well I'm not one of them. Probably between my hellfire and savage the last 3 years well over 2,000. I've got a buddy who keeps all of the paper tags of the parts he buys over the year and adds it up in the new year....it's staggering and depressing sometimes. lol I could be spending my money on worse things I suppose.

ya by the time i've had my x for a year i would really hate to add everything up,"i've only had it 6 mths" lol

^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yeah one of the reason I spent over $2,500 denero is because when I first started out I bought everything from my LHS. Pricey.

Ya I got a huge Excel sheet with everything in it and it adds it all up. I have a tab for every truck then a tab with the total into the hobbie which addes all theother tabs up, I even have a tab for tools and a tab for fuels and other run items like chargers, glow igniters, batterys (AAA's) ARO, Ect.

This Thread is not to be shown the the significant others who don't appreciat the sport/hobbie. LOL Mine has no clue.:bigsmilie: or id get :stickspank:

I lost my job before I could get too much into to it. It was my first nitro so I had to buy everything related to that. Hopefully I'll be working pretty soon because you guys have given me a ton of ideas. I suspect my project savy will be worth way over $1000. It may be a couple months down the road, keep your eyes pealed.

I just bought mine a few weeks ago, and it's my first nitro, so I had to buy a bunch of extras (glow plug igniter, etc. etc.)

As for actual hop-ups, the only thing I've done so far is put in a hump pack, roughly $20 on top of the $429.99 price tag.

I guess I bought some extra fuel line, and of course some PVC 🙂

Right now I am looking at the HPI Polished Pipe, an Ofna Linkage set, and some street tires. I'm trying to resist spending too much right now because I tend to hemorrhage cash during the holidays, and I need to make sure I can still pay for my RX-8! No Christmas bonus here yet, but here's hoping it comes so I can trick this thing out a bit.

Keep in mind guys this poll is just for the truck, hop-ups and fix's for the truck. If you want to list all othe costs please do so in a post

Like I have $500 in tools (Hex wrenches, glow igniters, chargers, charge leads, extra bolt box's, ect) and about $250 in fuel, ARO, and odds and ends.

I am so not posting in the Poll. I honestly don't want to know what I have spent. It would be well into the thousands across all my trucks but it would be hard to seperate out the costs for each car as I tend to order a lot in one hit and there tends to be stuff for everything in each order.

$180 - Used Savage 25
$55 - Gal Fuel, Fuel Bottle, Glow Plug and Igniter
$10 - Batteries
$14 - Replacement A Arms (my first accident)
$4 - Spur Gear

Still under $265. Buying it used was awesome. The nasty weather here has helped keep the costs down.

Hang around here a bit more and I'm sure we can make that number go up a bit.

w00t! I am now over the $500 mark as I bought a few small upgrades last night.

Quite honestly, I feel like this could quickly escalate into an addiction, as shopping for/buying/installing new parts can be almost as much fun as driving!

I have to say, I am trying to put myself on the "replace it when it breaks" plan, rather than upgrading things just to 'bling' out my truck. There are a few upgrades I want to do in advance of breaking, such as a new pipe and such, but for the most part, I'm going to try to keep it under control.

Yes guys this is a huge addiction. I bought my Savage X on 4/14/07 I have over $2G's into it and I am not into blinging it out but. Granted I ran like 9 gallons threw it in the last few months and have had a few encounters with the wifie about the amount of time I'm spending on the thing but I just tell her atleast I am using it unlike all of her damn purses just sitting around. I guess we both have our fettish I have my R/C's and she has her purse fettish. I think mines better but for some reason she thinks its just a wast as she just calles them Toy's (SHE WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND). The part I love about it is my doughter is getting into them, HAHA.

She just doesnt need to know that I got another one just for Racing. LOL

I voted in the over 2000.00 dollar range but, thats two savages in three years.

motors, servo's, wheels, spur's, cb, ect.

The scary thing is the amount of stuff you can pack into these cars. I have thrown out bags and bags of just rc parts packaging. I look at the rubbish bags full and think where did all the parts go?

my savage ss 4.6 wwas like 420
O.S. 30
hot bodies aluminum shocks
safety stop
had 2 buy servos
radio stuff was free
reverse module
battery pack
then temp gun ignitor fuel bottle
think thats it
price not toatally sure haha

Well it's my first nitro truck (savage4.6) and lets just say my wife took my Visa away. Between K&N air,Buku,IRC shocks, 3speed, reverse gear, Proline/axial rims, Braided fuel line, RR spure gear with HPI racing Clutch bell, ss brakes, and the mandatory up grade servo, hump, bla bla bla oh I can't forget the Radar gun by Bushnell I'm over the $1000 mark. Did I mention I've only had the truck for 2.5months Talk about addictive. The worst part we just keep getting nail here in Canada with crazy snow and ice cold air. I can't even enjoy all my upgrades. My wife hates this truck. well..... maby she just hates me lol. WHERE IS THE NEW K5.9!!!!!!!!!!!! My last upgrade I swear!!
Cheers!!

Middle of summer where I live. Just have to wait until christmas before the misses will give me my new engine :stressed:.

I'm blazer x's buddy with all the envelope tags and with the price of the truck tags alone i'm over $1500 but if i add in the money in parts blazer has bought off of the internet for me I'm real close to $2000. three motors tires lots of replacement parts and all the best the x and xss have to offer.

I'm quessing the 2000-2500 range. When I first got the truck I paid almost 1000. The old SS 4.6 (non X), radio, servo (steering), reverse, 3-speed, and integy msr4 shock. Then, a year later, more work and more money. STS motor, cen diff upgrade, custom TVP's, mid-tank (290cc), new servos (steering and throttle), cen rims/tires, alum bulkheads, alum F/R diff housing, alum shock towers, another three speed, another reverse or two, X-style trans case, etc., etc., etc., and list is too long to remember right now. Then, another $350 invested in the schumacher and monster buggy. $325 for the shumacher, that includes what I paid for the car and a few new parts. About $25 in the monster buggy.
