hey everyone out there i just completed my first sevro upgrade and took some pictures along the way. i just hope this helps out my fellow newbies.
this is a pic of my almost stock beginning, (hump pak is new and a very wise investment and a steering bearings swap). in the process of changing my servos i put in a new on/off switch so i can recharge my hump pak easier.
first i pulled out the hump pak and then the HPI RF-1 receiver.second i removed the screws holding the radio box in the truck. then i disconnected the HPI SF-1 throttle arm from the servo.

third thing is to flip the truck over and disconnect the steering linkage located under the truck.

next i removed the radio box.

then i removed the SF-1 servo and the SF-2 servo. i replaced the SF-1 servo with the SF-2 servo. in the place of the SF-2 servo i put in a hi-tec 645mg servo. take your time feeding the connection wires through the radio box, you don't want to skin a wire.

and then put your new and well improved radio box back in your truck and screw it back in place. you will have to use the servo arm that came in the spare parts bag with your truck, for the hi-tec servo. just remove the disc arm on the hi-tec servo and use the spare arm that fits the servo. reuse the throttle and brake arm on the SF-2 servo

make all of your wire connections. if you need help with this refer to your instruction manual on the receiver and servo connections, on page 21 of your manual. put the top plate of the radio box back on and get ready to be amazed at the steering and braking POWER!!!!!!!!!!!! make adjustments with servo arms if needed.
i hope i covered most of the process of upgrading your servos from weak to holy cow! please all you hard core guys out there if i missed anything by all means help me out.
