how full to fill the BB?

how full do yo fill the BB cause i got some new ones in the mail today and i opened them up and there about half full. accually I'm taking a gamble on these BB cause they were 50 buck shipped on ebay a hop up part from Boom racing, never heard of them. but they were only half full and strings seem soft so i think maybe i wasted my 50 bucks but we shall see.

Once you bled the air out fill them up to the top with the shaft all the way inside the shock. Screw the cap on and hold the shaft all the way in while you do. This should give you an air-free shock that is not filled too much. Some excess will bleed out the threads until its sealed.

what weight is recommend for them cause its either the springs or the oil is to thin cause they seem kind of well not kind they are soft?

I use 30wt in mine and that is the factory weight for the reg shocks... New big bores come unfilled. Not sure what everyone else runs but I like 30wt.

well these ones came filled, well kind of filled, and i just tested them by droping my savage from a few feet like 3 and it bottomed out big time i go off a jump and its good bye to somthing. so I'm going to try higher weight and stiffer springs if i can find some.

do i just dump out the old stuff and put in some new stuff, or do i have to clean them with a degreaser? before changing the oil

Dump the old stuff and put new stuff in unless the old stuff is dirty. In which case you should clean everything and find where the dirt was getting in. Socks filled with 1/2 air will compress easier than a shock that is filled properly.

well i will try some heavier weight oil then, the shocks are new so i don't or it shouldn't be dirty thanks.
