I'm gonna make a hump pack like crash & chris did there's ( thanks for the idea guys) but i am looking for the wiring harness / charging cord with the on/off switch. Anyone have a model number or know a manufacture that sells one? I believe my savy has the stock receiver in it.

TIA!

it should look like this..

See i don't know if this one would work on my truck.. http://www.myatomic.com/catalog/viewsku?sku=FUTSWH13

Thanks Fx for answering my question. Earlier Bank and sudi were in the shout box explaining my issue to me. I don't need a on/off since my 21 comes with one. Also i need two male battery leads. One to charge and one to the receiver. So this ended up being a cheaper mod! But like i said.. thanks again for being on top of it!

Ill post pics in the battery section of my hump packs when I'm done!

I don't have one, but I think you would have to have the power switch turned on, which I don't think your supposed to do while charging.

I use the dynamite prophet sport peak charger. It does NiMH and NiCD and has loud audible tones when it is done charging and then goes into trickle charge mode to keep the battery charged fully and then had an occassional tone to remind you that it's done. It is a cheap charger I paid like $35 at my LHS but it works well and you can charge at 1,2 or 4 amps. 4 amps only works off DC power though, but the charger is AC/DC capable out of the box without buying an adapter. Like I said, not the best charger out there but it more than gets the job done and I have had good luck with it and after spending so much money on the truck and everything else it was an affordable choice.

until i can afford this..

Can't i just buy a female adapter and splice a wall charger and solder the joints and plug it and and go? I have a wall charger from traxxas batteries.

I don't know how much experience you have working with electronics but I'm sure it is doable. Be careful though cause there is always risk of fire if something is not right. Plus that way you will have to monitor your battery level to know where it's at, but I guess this is not as critical as it is with lithium based batts. You can get wall chargers that will work for your plug that would be cheaper than the one I'm using and you wouldn't be cutting and splicing that way.

Say if someone runs into this fellow, tell him to update his email address, I've gotten about 50 of these today

My XL came with a charger like the one in your link that's why I asked. If you make you pack with a male end you should be able to use that wall charger without modifying right?

Try to get one with more output if you can that way you can charge your pack closer to 1C. That one is meant for overnight charging. In other words it would take FOREVER to charge your pack LOL. I charge my 1200Mah pack at 1 amp and it only takes like an hour and a half or less to recharge from my failsafe's cutoff point.

You take your MaH and divide by 1000 to get your charge rate. To charge my 1200MaH pack at 1C I would need to charge at a rate of 1.2 amps. A 3000MaH pack could be charged at a rate of up to 3 amps etc. You should not exceed 1C as it is hard on your battery and could shorten the life of it. You can charge at a lower rate with no drawback other than it taking longer to charge. On your battery i'm not sure if you would consider it a 2700MaH battery or if you are supposed to add up each cell to get your MaH rating. Either way you could charge it up to 2.7 amps and still be safe.

OK so I found this by googling.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=688746

According to that thread it depends on if you have your pack linked in series or parallel to figure your MaH. When in series the voltage multiplies per cell but mah stays the same (2700) but when in parallel the voltage stays the same and the mah multiplies per cell (2700 x 5). You might research this a bit more to be safe but but either way I think you would be fine charging at under 2.7 amps.

I didn't mean that they weren't in a series. The batteries don't have to physically be in a row they just have to be wired one after the other like a chain regardless of how they are "packed" together. They very well could be in series, I just don't know how to tell from the pic.

yep you got them wired in series. i also use the prophet sport charger for my hump packs. mine has the ac cord tho. at a 1 amp charge rate with the charger it takes about an hour to charge my 2100 mah hump pack
