Help with old school crystal radio

so the other day my radio/receiver quit on me, spektrum 3.0. I kind of expected it, it's old and I got it used. I've ordered a fly sky unit, but coming from china I know I'll be a few weeks waiting. So I'm left with an old crystal tx/rx setup that came with the 25 I'm currently rebuilding. The guy that I got from said it worked great for him. I have no manual or no idea how to bind or use this setup. I've never used a crystal remote setup before. Any advise will be helpful

No binding. It's a radio literally. Make sure the transmitter and receiver are on the same channel and have the same crystals in them. Power the transmitter first then the receiver. Be sure to range check it. Range check it every time you run to check for interference.

Right on thanks, just need something to keep the tires spinning. Summer is way too short up here to wait a month for a new radio
