Pope, for your steering servo (if you plan to keep the Stock X TVP's) you can use Platinum r/c products kit PR125. it comes pre-drilled so you can mount the steer-servo like savy scott did in post # 16 https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11565&page=2

You can buy the mid plate kit, fuel tank and servo mounts from PRC.

As for the t/b servo, i have seen some guys mount a plate to the stock fuel tank location and mount the servo there. it seemed quite simple & i will try to find a thread for you.

*** word of caution ***

Keep an eye on your costs so you don't exceed the cost of buying some flm tvp's because the are pre-drilled to accept the t/b servo in the location described & gives the option of mounting your t/b servo lcg style inside the tvp like this

not to mention it lowers the C.O.G. by dropping your mill & tranny 1/2" inside the tvp.

I know I would love to get the flm tvp's or prc tvp's but I need a new motor first. I don't like the way the steel plate looks on the x tvp's so I was thinking of running four bolts up from the motor mount plate to mount the t/b servo and would like to know if anyone else has tried this idea. As for the mid-tank plate I all ready have an flm plate and tank mounts but I am trying to figure out how to mount the steering servo to them sideways like in that post you put up is a great Idea I am going to see if the plate will alow for that. Thanks. Any advice on my t/b servo would help or pictures of the steering servo using the flm plate would be great. Thanks everyone.

ok, gotcha. i have the flm plate & drilled my own holes to accept the servo in that location (before i had flm tvps). it worked fine with the CEN radio box & Mugen tank. but i had painfully-short run times with that tank.

the problem i ran into was that it would not accept the OFNA 250cc tank because the plate is too short. i made my own plate out of 6061 before i was able to upgrade to the Larz kit.

This is the plate I have and I have the tank mounts it is made for the 250 tank.

I think I am going to have to drill holes in the tvp's to put flm servo mounts on. anyone ever do that?

ok i got confused where you mentioned flm, that looks like the IRC plate & looks like it will work with the 250cc

yep. i drilled the flm plate for the servo. there is a pic how to do it (with linkage part #'s) in judges build thread.

alex you do not have an flm plate. you have an irc plate 🙂

alex I never custom drilled my own holes for the steering servo but if I had to do it I would hook up my steering drag link to my bellcrank, and servo and with the flm mounts on the servo mark holes out on the tvps where the servo sits level and the drag link is straight. then drill them out.

Ya figured that out when I got home you told me that and I keep forgeting lol. Don't worry about those PICS the thought your servo was mounted to the plate some how wish me luck this is going to be a pain in the kisser to get these servos on.

hear is how i mounted my steering servo to my xl tvp which is the same as an x tvp in the front. if you are good with a jigsaw this is easy, i used 1/4 inch thick alu and made a u shaped mount for my steering servo

as for the throttle servo i made 2 aluminum mounts for it that bolt to the motor plate then to the servo but i don't seem to have any pics of it. will change that tomorrow and add a pic to show you
