I am brand new to nitro trucks, I just bought a new Savage X 4.6 and having a blast with it.
Here's the deal, I have about a $350 credit at my LHS. I would maybe like to by some spare parts for my truck. I would like to stay with HPI because he has allot of that and I'm in Canada so getting some other brands can be $$ and take long.
What all is good to keep on hand for spare(what seems to brake the most) to try to keep the truck from being down to long, and also is it worth getting the HPI heavy duty stuff like diff's etc??
What's a better all round tire then the stock one's?

Thanks.

Kevin.

proline badlands are a good tire to run all round they do wear a bit on ashphalt. grab yourself a set or 2 spare dogbones, a couple of spur gears, some glow plugs and some fuel. happy bashing

Kevin you dint say, but imma assume you have a Savage X rtr.

i say you also grab a tuned pipe. don't need to go crazy, the hpi polished works well on that mill.

also a hump pack if you don't already have 1.

maybe grab some x-tra dog bonz & a-arms.

other than that id keep some of that credit on tap, run the truck a gallon or two & decide which direction to spend the other cash.

lol, its kinda stupid how easily you can blow through $350.00 (or a thousand) on your savage.

wwell they all got ya covered pretty good but ide add a new set of diff gears to have on hand and a pinion gear as well maybe shims to go along with it .being its your first nitro truck, going to be bouncing it off the jumps with throtle in hand lol...good luck happy bashn and welcome to the game.

if your not running with one yet another wise purchase would be a center skid plate, I'm using the rpm center skid plate its better then the alum ones as it doesnt dent or crease, but even though its plastic its darn near bullet proof and the way its mounted also gives the T.V.P.'S support so they don't flex as much possibly throwing your gear mesh off and causing problems and does a great job protecting the drivetrain....

Thanks allot guy's.
What will the HPI tuned pipe give me, more bottom or top end?
Also, if I get diff gears and pinion should they be the HPI heavy duty or just the stock ones?

Kevin.

That pipe is going to give you better performance all around. Good luck with your new truck. And it would be a good idea to leave some of that credit siting there you will figure out the stuff you break most often and then you can get back ups of whatever that happens to be. Plus you will be upgrading and moding your truck before you know it. This stuff is like a drug.

P.S. don't buy anything Integy total waste of money
