So I'm getting ready to break in my new F 4.6 engine and I finally got it installed last night after many trials and tribulations. So I come down to break it in today and get everything ready get prepared I go to start it and I can't get to the starter. Did I do something wrong or is this a design flaw or what the hell is going on here because I can't fit my starter in there to turn the starter. I'm a Nitro new be so please tell me there's an easy fix or I overlooked something. I don't know what to do so I'm literally just sitting here waiting for a response LOL

I'm tired of this shi* and I get stressed out way too early so I'll just mod it myself

That's because that is the starter for the X called the Nitro Start , it is a direct drive without the offset gear reduction. I'm not positive but I think if you change the rear shock tower to one for the latest X version the starter shaft will fit , note the Nitro Start
Turns clockwise the same direction the engine runs and the Roto Start turns counter clockwise because of the gear reduction.

Or perhaps ditch the roto and go with a pull starter. Easier on the one way bearing... harder on you though. IME, it's more reliable and less stuff to worry about. I always ditch e-starters in favor of a pull-start.

Agreed! One less thing to lug around! Just put some man power in the pull and she'll start no problem ;)
