I got home from work today and desided to take the truck out before I left. I started by warming it up and made a run down the street then took in out back and found a loud clicking sound coming from the rear end when I would bring it up in speed. So I lifted the rear up and gave a little throttle and the rear tires didn't move but the fronts did. So I brought it in and pulled the rear diff and only thing I found was a blowen out bearing on the diff but all gears were good. So I don't know what is going on but when I get back I am going to go to lhs and get new bearing. Can anyone help thanks

All the screws were in tight. I held the rear drive shaft and turned the front and the front turned the rear so the trans feels fine.

Was it a side bearing that came apart in diff? If so ring and pinion mesh could be out so far to not make contact.

That make sence when I get back in town monday I am going over to lhs and get the bearings and put it back together and see if that was it. Thanks for everthing and you guys rock this forum too.

well mine did that and i just played with it abit but with out the knocking/clicking noice so i went and showed a friend and was to lazy to carry it so i pushed it home with the sevros to steer it, and after i got home i just put it away, so then the next day i went to make sure the tires were tight and i moved the front tires and then all od a sudden the rear ones moved along, and i was like ok am i dreaming??? but idk try pushing it for like half a kilomiter and see what that does, cant do any harm that i can think of

well jester I am going to go with the bearing blowing up on the diff and the diff shifting over. I took the diff apart and the gears inside were in good shape no shavings or chunks.

lol yep yep

i know it sounds stupid but thats the only way i can explane it for the way it fixed it self, hell even that sounds stupid lol

Thanks pineapple and everyone since I have the rear tore down I think I will fix it right. Because one of these days I think I am going to race.

Got my truck back up and running changed out the rear dif with the alloy on in my kit. Then up graded to the silicone grease 100,000 weight it is like I have a locker in the rear. And changed the bearings on the rear dif. It drives much better. Thanks for the help everyone.
