Help, hpi receiver not working

I'm new to the rc cars but i had got mine off a friend its a savage 4.6 ss. it didn't have the receiver or the transmitter so i ordered one. i got the tf-20E controller and hpi rf-30 receiver. i was so happy to run it but when i got it warmed up i hit the throttle about 3 times and tried to turn it and it was like i shut the controller off and nothing worked!? so i shut it off and was playing with it off and every time i
try and give it throttle and turn it like locks up.

Like the fail safe is on.so if i turn it off and back on i can throttle and turn 3 or 4 times then same thing like it locks up..... i have the sf1 throttle servo and sf2 turning servo could that be anything? please help

sounds like either a binding issue or the receiver batteries are either drained or if a hump pack needs to be charged
