I was wondering if anyone could help me out.My pull starter on my K 4.6 is really hard to pull. It's brand-new and I can't seem to get the engine to turn over for break-in.Some points in the pulling process are easy, then the pull starter gets hard to pull.I checked the glow plug.ok.fuel.ok.carb opened 1/4 like manuel says. Please give suggestions.Thank you.

it will be the pinch on the new engine, 4.6 is tight.
you will need to work at it but do not force the pull starter.

take the plug out with after run oil or similar put a fw drops in the carb and into the cylinder, work the starter to turn the engine and lubricate.
pull a few times to get a feel for the engine.

reinsert plug attach heater, try get piston to BDC and give a firm, short, sharp pull on the cord to get the engine to turn over. keep trying.

the carb sould be open approx 1mm not 1/4open.

let us know if you still have problem with it.

If it's that tight of a pinch use a heat gun get the case up to around 200 then follow what eveyrone is saying. It'll turn over much easier put less stress on the PS.
