I present you my racing savage. The upgrades/mods I have on it are-

Carbon lcg tvp's, shock mounts
midtank mod (cen - mugen)
ofna throttle mod
Team associated Big bore shocks (Used them extensively, and they have not given me a single problem LOVE em)
custom made sway bars
heavy duty dogbones and cups
Had a spare hpi SF-5 servo that I used for steering, and moved the steering SF-2 to the throttle mod
Rear wing mount
Racing clutch and bell
Removed the 2 speed tranny (350grms) and replaced it with a mugen center diff (125grms)
and a custom painted mbx6 body (first time painting)

Upgrades still to be done :-
Radio - receiver upgrade (thinking to go for the futaba 3pm fasst)
Servos upgrade
and finally I'm waiting for Robin from extreme rc mods to get his pipe finalized, So I can order my modded picco and custom pipe 🙂

Still running the stock .21 hpi (useless), and my diff oils and shocks need track tuning....

Well let me know what you guys think, where my weaknesses are, and what else I can do to better the truck.
p.s When I get the modded picco, I'm going to change over to the 250cc tank so I can run for longer....

welcome to the forum grkboy. i like your savage, is that jason's c.f.?

interesting t/b servo set up.

great to have ya!

Yip, my carbon plates are all from platinum rc, GREAT products. Had to do some cutting to the engine plate to get the engine mounted in the right spot so as to sit correctly on the centre diff.

The b/th modd is like that because the central diff now has front and rear brakes, which lets me adjust the braking power accordingly 70% front, 30% rear....

The diff was the hardest part of all the modding done to the truck, i set it laying to its side and bolted it to my skidpan, finding the right length front/rear dogbones was also a mission. Then figuring out how to get the brakes to work was the last bit.... In the video, my diff oils are all wrong, and it sends most of the power to the rear, busy changing it to 7000/5000/2000 front to back respectively and going to use that as a initial setup and work my way from there. My mill needs some serious upgrades, as it is weak and adds allot of strain to my clutch. pinion is on 14, and spur on 46... also got to get them right....

any chance you took pics of how you did this & possibly make a "how to" thread? that would be killer.

Next question is: How you liking those CF shock tower's & have they yet taken any good hits/crashes?

i have the same towers and a buddy of mine thinks theyre gonna break off in a crash. what you say to this?

I have a couple of pics, i will try take more over the weekend, and try make a how to... as for the shock towers, over the weekend my cousin gave a try at driving, and at full wot bashed into the curb.... the truck had absolutely no damage, I have personally done some bashing. landing on one tire, landing and rolling, and I have not had any problems... Everything has its limmits, but I guess it all boils down to the driver.....

looks pretty sweet, I would adjust the angle of your throttle linkage from your mixer to slide, it looks like when you open it up its not pulling your carb straight out. I would also be interested in seeing a how to on that center diff install, parts, cuts, ect.

Welcome to the forum and nice job on the truck. Recommend you richen up that engine a little, I did not see any smoke at all and would not want you to burn the motor out early.

Great looking truck bud, I think you would see alot more snap with a 14 or 13 tooth bell, let that engine work and rev a little.

ok, put the kiddies to bed & took a real good look at your truck. the verdict? its sweet. I'm really diggin the center diff & interested to see the details of how you did it. especially how you got the braking & tuned it to 70 - 30. I've not seen a build quite like this before.

don't think ive given rep on a 1st post till now.

Well let me know what you guys think, where my weaknesses are
id recommend a tuned pipe & get rid of the plastic muffler. don't know if i'd call it a weakness, but it will hold you back in terms of performance..

what else I can do to better the truck.
Well you said "modded picco" and i hope that you meann't Extreme RC Mods caz you get it & a pipe matched to it & you cant get much better.
