getting new engine

This has probably been asked a million times. I have decided to get a new engine for the savage since having trouble with the 21bb it came with. Someone locally is selling a brand new ofna 28 for 100$. Just wanted to hear from some of you before getting it. Willing to spend a little extra on something else if feedback is bad on the ofna. Has to be something easy to tune and somewhat stay that way. Need some help deciding want to get.

Alot of people like the ofna/ picco engines. I myself have never tried one. I do know that to buy a brand new .28 usually sits in the $120-180 range. So getting one for $100 isn't a bad deal. I would probably attempt to bid him down, but buy it even if he doesn't want to accept less. The only reason I wouldn't go after it is if you can only afford one engine, then I would probably research a little more and make sure you're getting what you want.

After reading your other thread, I would advise to get a roto start system and to take apart your motor and reassemble it while sealing it up good. Just my 2 cents. If you go for the new engine, be sure that the new motor has never had fuel in it at all.
