Hi,

Since Ive been using the odonnels fuel that is clear, no color I noticed after fuel is in the tank it turns yellow. I realized this must be because of the exaust pressurizing the tank. I am wonderng if this is harmful to the mill, carb or anything? Seems like it can't be good. Is there any way to fix this or lessen it? Has anyone tried a filter, lke a stone one on the pressure line?

Thanks,

John

I use a stone filter from dubro.

I don't think it will hurt anything. Even though people suggest to empty your fuel after you are done I don't and mine sits for about a week and its still runs fine and temps are fine also.

Hi,

Ive been emptying mine and saving it in a old empty quart bottle. probably use it when I am desperate for fuel.

I am going to look around and se if I can't find a pump to pressurize the tank, just hate to hook anything else to the battery, plus I doubt I will find anything that will work on low current.

Thanks, I will add a filter just for the heck of it.

ahhh yes be carefull though as your nitro content will drop and your tuning issues will begin to become a hassel. I use odonnel fuel 30% the yellowing is the oils in the fuel separating from the nitro you usually see this at the end or the next day you run. that is why it is criticle to add after run oil to your motor after you run that yelloing goo will atract moisture and harden over time if left un checked..

I am using the odonnels 25% right now, going to try the 30% next time. I don't see the yellowing till after I have it in the tank, it gets worse as I run it, the last little bit left in the tank is really yellow, it never turns yellow or hasn't yet while it is in the quart bottle that;'s why I don't think it is the oil seperating but I don't know for sure.

Thanks,

John

Is there a downside to adding a fuel filter? I finally ordered one, waiting...

the only down side i've ever seen was one fuel filter i had wasnt air tight, i changed the o ring seal and it still had a air leak but thats a rare thing, and dirt is the worst thing for these engines so yes its really good insurance for the price!! i run with one anyway!! i just grabbed the dubro inline fuel filter, it was like $4.00 dollars or something!!

Well maybe saying the oil is seperating isnt the best choice its more like staining, Blue thunder fuels leave a greenish color or a blueish green color behind. what ever chemical reaction that goes on is fine. Odonnles is a fuel that has been around a while I trust it in all my motors I have a few lol I guess I need more trucks to put them in LOL.
