Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on a problem I've been having with my truck the last few times I've used it. Twice during our demo's @ Monster Jam last month and yesterday during our race, I busted my fuel tank. It looks like the shock tower is flexing and poking it with the shock screw. I double checked the shock tower to make sure it's not broken.

What I've done to hopefully prevent future issues is:
1) Glue a small piece of aluminum to the tank to reinforce that area

2) Turn the shock screw around so it won't be as destructive.

Hopefully this will save someone else some headaches down the road.

looks good...i have always ran my screws out the back...don't know why but this may explain why i am still running my orrigial tank...

good trick with the alumnium... now someone will chime and and say it needs to have a mid tank to eliminate this problem...lol

LOL! You're right. Truth is that I've never seen the need for the mid-tank mod. I usually tune w/ a half a tank and it runs pretty good through a full tank.

You just don't know what you are missing though!!! lol.

Good tips bud.....I am sure some people will put this to use.

.
thats a good idea to fix & explanation of how you did it... a buddy of mine doesnt encounter the 1/2 tank lean either but has broken his stock tank 2 or 3 times... gonna mention this to him..

i had a midtank, didnt like it, so I'm went back to standard truck, and haven't had this much fun with my truck in a long time. :resp::resp:

as far as poking a hole, i am trying to find a way to reinforce the tower itself, hoping that this will lead to an end of bent shock shafts.
