As some of you all know I recently had a bad crash that ended my steering servo's life. The crash stalled the motor on impact.

I got it all back together, and filled the tank. I started it (started extremely easy like normal) and ran alright for the first half of the tank. I run rich settings for account of the half tank lean problem.

Now, it eats the tank in about five minutes, won't go to full RPM, and it seems like it's just running rich as the first half of the tank usually does. I mean, it still runs decently strong. It's almost like there's a fuel leak, but I can't find one for the life of me.

Now, here's the problem. Even when I lean it out, it doesn't seem to have any effect what-so-ever. I turned the needle in almost 3 turns, and it's still running rich. I'm at a loss, as I haven't ever seen this happen.

I did the airleak test with the motor on the chassis, and I really don't want to have to pull the thing apart again lol I didn't show any leaks on either the fuel tank side, or the motor. It's got a TON of compression, and I can't turn the flywheel by hand unless I hold it for a while and let the compression release over time. It's got a new glow plug in it, and I'm still having trouble. I broke the end of my pipe, and tried another; Nothing.

I'm at a total loss here, don't know what the heck is wrong.

Take the carb off and check the needles. Maybe something happened in the crash.

I checked the HSN, it's fine, and the LSN I hasn't moved at all

The carb seems to be fine, I don't know though. Could something be letting that much fuel in? I mean, it's taking 3 or 4 times the fuel it should obviously, and it's not leaning out at all

OK, I was running today and it was also 38 - 40 degrees

and at first it would not perform like I like it too
so I gave it more fuel and it started to wake up

I ended up over half turn out on needle to compensate for
cold air.

My run time was cut down dramatically

This may not be your issue but, somtimes it many small
things that bring these little engines to theyr knees

good luck

AoD: I leaned it to a turn over stock, and she was doing nothing but wheelies again, hard enough wheelies to just flip... still eating too much fuel AoD: half tank in about 4 minutes or less AoD: oik that was a little better

I'm at more of a loss now then I was before that run.....

It was actually flipping itself in wheelies, and hitting second like it had an intention to kill. I know she was running lean, but I don't know why it still ate so much fuel...

Things I did before this run..

1: Checked the HSN, cleaned it
2: Checked the Air Filter, cleaned it again
3: Put the *now broke* pipe, fixed as good as I could on it
4: Cleaned out the manifold and pipe with WD-40 and water..

I don't know what's causing this, but now the motor runs great, but has a problem with eating fuel? What could be causing the fuel problem? There isn't any leaks that I can see anywhere. Fuel line is fine, and after the leak test on the fuel tank/hoses there's no leaks? I don't know... Gah...

Alright, completely tore down everything associated with the motor.

Carb, engine, fuel tank/lines, exaust. everything is how it should be. I'm totally stumped by the problem. I have no idea what the heck it could be.

Symptoms are only that the fuel is dissapearing as it would seem. 5 minutes a tank is horrible.

I've got it all together now, all cleaned up. It should run correctly now (even though nothing was broke?). I'll run it tomorrow, and then I'll know if it's a crack in my mill or something. I really hope not. Though, the LRP would look nice in my ride 🙂

Basically, cross your fingers and hope? I wanna thank dread again, he was at the chat box for over 6 hours helping me fix it. Thanks goes out to Mega, Pineapple, Allan, and everyone else that helped too that I just can't remember the names of right now. 10 hours of wrenching will do that to you I guess. From 2:30 to almost 12:30. I hope it's alright. I don't see how that crash could have cracked my block or such. I will know tommorow

I did all the airleak tests, even on the motor itself. I'm at a loss, gonna test it again today. If I can't figure out this problem, I'm gonna call HPI monday night.
