OK, have got the tune N down pretty good. Today while running the Savage, the thing took a hard right. When I stopped it, it smelt of burt electronics. It was. The servo or the receiver crapped out. Has this happened to anyone else? It was the stock radio and I have only had it a week.

Is your throttle servo still working? If so then I will say it is the steering servo.

I know on both of my brand new trucks, neither one of them had a steering servo make it through break-in...but they are plastic geared so stripped easily.

If the throttle servo isn't working either then I will take a bet on the receiver...

Also welcome to the forum!

Yes the throttle servo is working. But its not the gears. It's burnt up. I think the servo just fried. I switched the throttle channel with the steering. And the throttle works on both channels. It's hard to believe in one week, its fried? I hope they replace it!

Thanks for the reply, and warm welcome.

if hpi does replace it put it for sale on ebay and get yourself a hpi sf5 servo or something with at least 130oz-in of torque. the sf2 servo only has 80oz-in of torque and plastic gears as mentioned before.

Thanks again guys for all the advice! This is the first form group I have ever joined and yes it has met all my expectations and put to rest all my skepticism about forums! Thanks again and yes, as soon as I get a paypal thingy ill donate!

If you got the cash get the hitec 7955tg best servo I've ever owned yet if u do buy this servo better upgrade to the heavy duty servo saver spring also, u can pick these servos up for about 90 bucks on eBay

Great servo but might be a bit more than he needs unless he plans to upgrade his Tx/Rx to digital 😉

+1 here caz you also get to upgrade to metal gears from plastic.

Definitely keep your eyes open on eBay - there are a ton of deals to be had if you know what you are looking for. I just recently picked up a DS1015 and DS1313 for $40 for the pair.

And keep you eyes out on here too - good stuff in the For Sale section to boot 🙂
