Nice 1 wo just checking coz blocks bit diff rant but force brand lot cheaper so will av look on eBay

HPI Star F4.6 and F5.9 engines are rebranded Force .28 and .36 engines respectively. By filing for bankruptcy, Force put the last nail in HPI's coffin. What is more worrying for me is the fact that S.H. was Force's parent company. Does this mean that S.H. might be in financial dire straits too? Because if S.H. falls, all nitro engines with "Made in Taiwan" etched on the bottom of their crankcases such as LRP will soon disappear...

Novarossi was bought by a Chinese company. They flooded the market with all the old stock, B stock and even defective units that Novarossi had accumulated over the years. Once they emptied the warehouses, they hauled all the drawings and machinery to China and promised to start manufacturing nitro engines in weeks. And that was the end of Novarossi and the last time anyone ever heard from those Chinese owners.

Picco downgraded their manufacturing capacity and now just focus on .21 competition engines. The state of their website should be a reflection of their viability... (though Picco also does projects for high end car manufacturers from time to time so they might be around for a while) GRP's manufacturing plant burnt down in fire and they never recovered.

All other European engine brands relied, in part, on Novarossi and Picco and A. Rossi manufacturing plants to make their engines. Among them were Tecnomeccanica (old Ninja), Ascendency and a few others. They too all disappeared.

In aircraft and boat RC, most reliable nitro engine manufacturers too have fallen by the wayside.

I am a pessimist by nature so I doubt anything good will come out of nitro engine manufacturers disappearing one by one...

This was the response I got today from HPI when asked about closure of Force & future stock of nitro engines, best stock up on those Force mills!

The closure of Force will not affect the availability of our Nitro cars for quite some time as we have invested heavily in back up stocks from Force of engines and spares before their closure.

I’m sorry but I can’t give any development information about what might, or might not, be being worked on.
