If i can turn not spin the fly whel in both direction could this be loose flywheel even though blot feels tight. Noticed the problem when i found out the one way bering was installed backward . That problem was found when roto start keep spining and had a hard time starting the engine but it did start the engine. Wording on berring gors towrd engine not towards the front. Any help on this flywheel would be great.

So your saying you can turn the flywheel but not spin it ? - not sure about this.

I'm guessing you mean the flywheels turns either way but the crackshaft doesnt spin with it ? Is your flywheel nut done up all the way ?

Maybe your OWB is dead.

I had a similar problem. I was running my Savage and the engine hydrolocked. Me being careless, I went ahead and started it. Worked fine, but after opening the engine I found that a piece of the conrod had snapped. Open up the engine and make sure nothing has broken.

if you can turn the flywheel both ways and the crank shaft is turning aswell but you don't feel the presure of the piston going up and down in the sleeve then you snapped the con rod or the pin off the crank itself. but if you turn the fly wheel and the crank shaft don't spin with it ..you might need to check the collet the cone shaped brass fitting behind the fly wheel .check it make sure its still in good shape and tighten up the fly wheel nut so it presses the flywheel onto the collet harder.. might just be slipping...that pretty much sums it all up for you all it can be ...happy bashn..good luck

The crankshaft does move up and downwhen i turn the flywheel. The nut does feel tight but I do beleive you are right with the collet and the slipping.
