who all has used / can recommend a LiPo low-voltage alarm.

i'm thinking an audible alarm could be useful if you set the lvc on your ESC a bit lower than you set it on the alarm so you get a warning that the end is near before you reach it.

i am reading that these are commonly used in r/c planes with LiPo packs.

thoughts?

here are a couple i found by googling, don't know if theyre any good.

Kershaw designs has some for 2s & 3s. they have one that will alarm and another that will actually cut power to prevent damage from over discharge.

i see the name Novak which seems to be reputable in electrics

just use the cutt off in the esc trust me you will just get a sudden slow down and barley anymovent when you reach the cutt off and its time to charge no need for the alarms waste of money .

I'm getting a different story from peeps that are big into fluxes. ive heard several run the alarm in conjunction with the setting on the esc.

could it hurt to use a inexpensive alarm as insurance on a $100.00 - $300.00 battery?

If you use the auto-LiPo setting, it might be a good idea to have the audible, since that setting can read he batteries incorrectly if they're discharged a ways...if the truck is turned off, and then turned back on while the batteries are low, it can read the low voltage as being fewer cells, which means it will let the batteries discharge to a lower voltage....the easy fix is to use a custom cut-off setting. I have mine set for 13V, and I get around 35min out of it,same as auto-LiPo, but without the worry.
