I thought I would post a new thread about a question that I know has been asked before.

My hellfire tank in my savage wasn't giving me enough runtime so I bought the ofna 250cc tank. When it arrived I discovered it was longer then the fastlane machine servo plate. So I ordered the Innovative-RC tank mount/servo plate with the ofna tank mounting posts. To get the Innovative plate to fit where the FLM servo plate went all I had to do was drill and counter sink 2 holes near the back of the plate using the FLM plate as a template. Simple.

Here are the pics:

I also had to mount the steering servo to the TVPs. This is easy with the FLM servo mounts and the IRC Steering link and a slightly longer servo horn. The other thing to note that you can see in the second picture is that the servo mounting tabs go underneath the FLM servo mounts which lowers the servo so it doesn't hit the tank plate.

Best picture of the servo mounting:

2 x FLM Savage Servo Mounts - #FLM46000 (FLM46000) ($5.99) = $11.98
1 x FLM Servo Plate Kit for Savage - #FLM45500 (FLM45500) = $13.99
1 x 3mm Flat Washer - 10pc (SMFHFW03M10) = $1.00
1 x RPM Receiver Box for RC10GT - Black - #80052 (RPM80052) = $8.99
1 x M3 Locknut - 10pc (SMFHLN03M10) = $1.00

1 x GMK "Fat Boys" Thick O-Rings - #0110 = $3.49

Total $120+ (can't be bothered adding it up again) .... ouch that includes the FLM tvps and skid plate though.

A few more bits from A main hobbies:
1 x Team Associated Aluminum Antenna Mount (RC8) (ASC89005) = $8.49
1 x HPI Fuel Line Accessories (HPI85511) = $4.29
2 x ProTek R/C Heavy Duty 15cm (6") Universal Servo Extension Lead (PTK-5204) = $4.98

Total $17.76

Parts from Innovative-RC
1 x Battery box bracket HPI Rush box - Savage X = £2.00
1 x HoBao / Ofna 1/7th Fuel tank - 250cc = £12.60 (can be found cheaper else where)
1 x I-RC stearing Linkages = £5.50 (don't actually have one of these but I wish I did)
1 x Fuel tank plate = £3.45
1 x Ofna 250cc Fuel Tank Mounts = £4.50

Note that I have still got the FLM servo plate in the shopping list. I am still using the supports and screws that came with the FLM plate to mount the IRC Plate.

Looks liek you did a wonderful job, congrats.

I also make a kit for this which will fit the FLM TVP's my part number is PRC125 for about $34.80 which isn't on my web site quite yet. www.platinumrcproducts.com

I knew you had the parts, I thought about it but I prefer aluminium as I am more comfortable working with it. Depending on how much I get into racing though I may end up putting this truck on a diet.

how do you like that rpm reciever box? i got mine and i cant figure out how i should mount it. i did forget to buy the antenna mount, but could you get some clost up pics of that?

I run it on my race and love it so far. I have had no problems with it. I often think about sealing it off a bit but haven't done it and not sure if I will ever get to it.

You can mount it to the side just like he has it there is 2 sets of holes on the FLMs which are ment for a steering servo but you can mount the box there. I also have a set of holes in the side of mine just for the RPM reciever box.

The rpm receiver box is great. To mount it I cut off the bit that stuck out the back of the box. I put one screw through an existing hole and I drilled a hole for the second in the back of the box. Both screws screw directly into the plastic. I used the servo mounting holes on the chassis to mount it to. It isn't held on by much (both screws screw into plastic) but I haven't knocked it off and the truck hasn't had the easiest of life. I hope this helps. I will try to get a better pic for you but if you look through my picasa gallery you might be able to piece it together.

The body is a proline crowd pleazer muscle 2.0 for the savage. I can't find it on the Proline website so I'm thinking they may not make it any more. I like it as it covers the head and protects it from damage. I bought it from the LHS for an astronomical price but it was worth it. The designs on the body and bonnet are venom internal stickers.

Here is a link to it but it is discontinued and they have no stock http://www.gravesrc.com/PROLINE_CROWD_PLEAZER_MUSCLE_BODY_p/pro3206-00.htm

Looks nice. I'm using the same tank with larsenracing's plate and I realy like it compared to the other tanks I have tried.

It's fantastic when racing. I don't even fill mine all the way up and I still don't have to worry about running out of fuel in a race.
