Alright fellow forum members, it's time to combine two of my favorite things. RCs and Beer.

Since we have people from all over the globe here it will be interesting to see what's out there. You may find something new to try!

I'll start this off with a couple favorites of mine.

Deschutes, Anniversary Black Butte Porter

P.S. Any attempt to post Miller, Bud, Corona, Coors, etc will get you down-voted and mocked. ;):D

Dogfish Head was something I really looked forward to trying. But after several of their beers, I fear a good bit of their popularity is hype. Never tried Midas Touch, but I do like their 60, 90, 120 minute IPAs.

All of them ha ha. On a more serious note uplandbeer.com just opened up a location in my town. I like their Stoaked beer. It's ha hefty 10% ABV too.

There is also another microbrew/pizza shop. They do both really well. I like most everything they have with the caveat I don't particularly care for IPAs.

As far as domestics/macrobrews go I'll drink about anything other than diet beer (light) unless it is free or ice brewed (just having 2 gives me a massive headache). I like Miller Fortune as it's 6.9% ABV (see a trend here lol?). Bells Brewery makes Oberon which I like as well. I really like Sam Adams Noble Pils but I can't seem to ever find it locally anymore (yes I'm aware it's seasonal).

Need more be said. I can only seem to get it when I go to Vermont as it's a local brew, but man it's good. Take a few sips to get used to the first time, it is made with the fiddlehead fern if I remember correctly.

I'm not much for belgians, mostly due to the high citrus taste they are prone to. That beer however, if it stands up to it's description seems mighty tasty. All of their "specialty" beers appear to be worth a try.

I don't get much citrus taste from it at all. It tastes more of an charred oak which is much tastier than it sounds.

Beer sucks. If you are gonna drink anything then drink something that will put hair on your chest. I will stick with my MOONSHINE. LOL

I am with @Greywolf123 I tend to stick to hard liquor myself, got a buddy in Ky says he gets some shine that will peel paint off a house.... head banging stuff that doesnt leave a hangover....... when he comes to visit I am sure to get a jar or 2 of that fine stuff.......

Other types of alcohol are fine. Feel free to create your own thread about them. ;)

If the best you can do is " beer sucks" then leave, you're not wanted here.

My favorite beer at the moment, and has been for a while now, is a beer called "Shotgun Wedding" and a close second would be "Cougar Bait" both from a local brewery in Lexington called Country Boy Brewing (site).

If I'm not drinking beer then my go to is more times than not Makers Mark bourbon (also made here in Kentucky).

I LOVE BEER, unfortunately it does not love me back, sour stomach and all just doesnt hit it, I been this way long as I can remember, must be something in the brewing or hops and things......

I'll have to check those out. Wife and I are likely making a trip to Lexington soon as a friend is opening a restaurant there.

Now a fat tire is good also some of my Vermont buddies got me drinking that along with the good old Labatts.
I believe the fiddlehead brand is called Second Fiddle, usually I just ask for a fiddlehead at the bar when I go to Vermont I didn't realize there where several others. I like going to Vermont they have so many different IPAs to choose from and just about every bar has a sample platter to try.

Let me know when they open, we're always up to trying new restaurants!
It's a Greek restaurant called Taziki's (might not be spelled correctly). They just opened.

I know right where that's at, they just built a new hotel behind that place. Haven't been there yet but I'll certainly give it a try!

@WoodiE tell the GM Chris Morrison (beard and tattoos) that Derek and Nicole from Carino's sent you. Of course mentioning my name will incite some off brand humor so be warned lol.

I think that I am very lucky to work in central London here in the UK as it is full of great pubs. Our favourite, which is a 2 minute walk from the office, brews their own beer and also has a massive selection of guest beers that they change on a regular basis so practically every visit you can try a new beer.....:D:D:D:D

This time of year is the best but as I have just been diagnosed with cancer, beer drinking will be put on hold until I kick the cancer's butt and I am back up to full health!!!

@WoodiE Bob Henry I believe is the GM at Carino's in Lexington. I'll fact check with the wife, but I'm pretty sure that Carino's and Taziki's is owned by the same company. Feel free to tell Bob we sent you as well.

@paulnewman sorry to hear that, but it doesn't sound like cancer stands a chance.

Kick that cancer's butt, first and foremost! My father-in-law recently went through cancer treatment as well. The first thing I did was buy him a pack of a beer I knew he'd love. It's the little things that help you get through stuff like that.

shiner_bock_texas_beer.jpg

This one here is my favorite. I think for the most part it's only in Texas, though I've heard of friends finding it elsewhere from time to time.

Love this time of year! Got me some Samuel Adams OctoberFest. :)

German lagers can be amusing, but I prefer this time of year for a different reason. We enter the time of malty beers! Porters, stouts, scotch ales, barley wines! This is an expensive time of the year for me...... :D
