Exhaust Manifold Question

Hi everyone. Still fairly new to nitro here having recently switched from electric. I was looking at a few different kits that don't come with engines. I was curious will any manifold work with any engine? I know there are rear ports and side ports, but as long as the port type is correct will any brand of manifold work with any brand and size engine?

not any brand will work ..

the savage manifold has a weird bend to to it. But most savage manifolds will work w/ all sized engines

So is the manifold determined more by the car/truck you are putting it on rather then the engine itself?
