Erratic Throttle Behavior

Had my Savage out today, and ran it through two tanks of gas back to back. First tank went perfect, ran well at WOT and slow speeds. Partway through the second tank, whenever I gave the savage throttle, it would go all crazy with the throttle. It would rev in bursts. Picture a guy on a motorcycle twitching the throttle at a stop light. But it would only do this if I was giving it throttle.

At first I thought it was an electronic/signal issue, but braking and steering were unaffected. Then I picked up the Savage while it was running and gave it some gas with the wheels off the ground, and it did the same thing. Once it ran out of gas, I checked the throttle again and that crazy behavior was gone. It would only do it while the engine was running.

For those who think it was running too lean, I had smoke, and my temperature never got higher than 256, even with extended WOT on the first tank.

Any ideas?

this happened to my MGT, only throttle, and it was still electrical. it actually ended up being the antenna, but point it that electrical is weird, its hard to figure out, but it can be anything. you just gotta start swapping parts like flop the throttle and the steering and see what happens...

Had this exact problem today after installing a fail safe...took the fail safe out and still had the same issue. I think I have tracked it down to the ON/OFF switch because when I would tap the switch I could hear it cut in and out. I hooked the battery directly to the receiver and it seems to be working now.... I guess I'll get a new switch and try it again.

UPDATE/CORRECTION... Decided to check for continuity in the switch and it turns out its fine...so idk.

UPDATE/CORRECTION #2... lol...K found it, its my xrystal. If i wiggle it while its running it gets all funky...or I guess it could be the receiver to.

also check fuel lines for cracks and never lift a truck off the ground and give it thorttle thats a no no. also make sure you don't have too lean of a idle. also check to see if your slipper is tight enough and check for any spots the eltrical is grouding out
