Just a couple of quikies,first i have noticed that some of the engines have had the heat sink/head machined/cut of what is the reason 4 this and does it improve anything also some rc have a very short antenna how is this acheived as i thought cutting it would shorten the distance any help would be helpful thanx in advanace bazza

Some heads are different yes .. as far as better .. I don;t think so..

The shorter wire. Your probably seeing a pic w/ someone running a spektrum radio/reciver

do you mean cut like make it shorter? If it's shorter it's so they can run them in cold weather.
For ymthe attenna it's like stated above or the person gas pulled some of the wire back into the radio box and only leaves a small amount sticking out, they don't cut it just pull some of the excess back into the box.
Not recomended tho it cuts down on range.

Is what your talking about for Heads the Billet Aluminum ones which most are from Nova and yes they usually do drop temps by a few degrees but I have never ran one and don't really plan on ever running one unless I get it cheap.

Jcam & Jeremy are correct these short antennas are from 2.4ghz radio systems. The FM/AM radios need there full length antennas which is what they need to properly communicate to distances.

Agrees with everyone above;

Addition to heads: If you're running in the cold, a head with less fins will act worse as a heat sink, this enables the engine temps to be higher-basically back up to normal weather running temps, without leaning the mixture and damaging the mill. They are really for cold weather use only.
