Engine life.

I recently (This year) bought a brand new f4.6 engine for my savage, and I have enjoyed it so much that I already have about 4 gallons through the engine. It still runs and idles perfect and has great compression. Is it normal for it to last this long or have I just gotten lucky? If its normal how many more gallons can I expect to run through it if I run it on the rich side? (Running torco 20%...14% oil) Cold plug

Ive gotten 15 gallons out of a engine before it was no longer useable tho that was a os.15 Ive gotten 11 gallons out of a sh engine and still has probably another 8 more if i put in a new piston and rod and bearings in but that's kinda a waste when you can get a whole new engine for the same price lol.

I got 10 from my K5.9 before i upgraded. The K5.9 still has life in it. As long as you treat them right they should last you a long time.
