has any one ever changed one of these out,do i have to take the truck apart to pull the tranny so i can rebuild?

If your talking about a tranny rebuild then yes. Is is difficult - no are you replacing the gears with stock or aftermarket?

thanks for your help, The problem wasnt the driveshaft turned out to be the wrong spacer in the spur gear
