hi i am wondering if any one can help me i have just bought a savage 25 second hand and it seems as if all it does is ref and make loads of noise and hardly moves is this justy how savage are or could there be a problem thanks dan

First, Welcome to the Forum....

Well it could be its out of tune, the Clutch shoes are worn out, or the diffs are blown...... could be alot of things....

Sunken is right could be alot of things. I would start with trying to tune it. I am not sure if you are experienced at this or not but do not let your temps get over 250. If it still dose this after it is tuned then i would check the clutch shoes, clutch bell and spur gear. If all that is good then i would check the front and rear diffs. These trucks can be frusterating but take your time and chase the problem down one thing at a time. good luck man. Welcome to the site

hey guys thanks alot this may help usually with these things if you lock 4 wheel and trun another the other hweels will move well when i do this the other wheels saty wtill u think it may b a dif thansk 4 the welcoming dan

also can i ask where will i find the clutch shoes on these things i really am a novice to the nitro savage a am used to electric lol

they will be under the clutch bell on the motor. their will be one screw at the end of the bell that you will remove to expose the shoes

It moves just hardly. Sounds like it could be just a loose or worn slipper pad. Check teh nut first then move to the clutch. Also check the grub screws on the output cups. don't forget the brakes. Are you trying to push against a locked brake?

+1 on the slipper pad, my savage was reving like crazy today and not going very fast so I checked the slipper and the nut had loosened a little so I tightened it back up and it was fine. Nice easy fix.

hi guys i have been to the local model shop today an dhe has told me the front dif is nakerd he wanted a fortune labour so i was wondering if any no's where i can buy a dif cheap and how hard thye are to fit thansk dan

ye i agree with you there thye are pretty easy and thanks 4 that i do have a manual bud very handy to no if i ever lose it thanks dan

One of the cheapest places to get diffs are on ebay. Diffs are about 20 or so US dollars or you can sometimes get the diffs with bulkheads and sometimes shock towers for around 30-35 us dollars. I recommend you get the Savage X diffs because they have 4 spider gears on the inside. I believe the 25 diffs came with only 2 spider gears on the inside, if I am wrong about this I am sure someone will chime in lol. I also recommend you get the X bulkheads since they make access to the diffs much easier than the 25 bulkheads. The X diffs will drop right into the 25 and the X bulkheads should bolt right onto the 25 chassis. Once you have your diffs make sure you shim them, here is a link ....https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=17401#post17401. Hope this helps you out.

ok make thanks 4 the help but the dif is ok after i inspected it my self it is just the bevel gears thanks 4 the help tho really appreciate it
