Someone had recommended to put grease around the dog bones. Does any do this or recommend doing it?

Thank you

welcome 528. don't know what purpose it would serve to grease anywhere but the ball end. id think it would just make a bigger mess.

Welcome to the forum.
I use a product called Dry Ice Race Lube by Sullivan's at the ends of mine. Lube at or on any moving part can't hurt IMO.

I was thinking if I greased them, that the grease would just collect dirt & grit and make things worse.

Thank you for the replies.

i use synthetic grease inside the axle cup & diff cup where the ball-end of the bone sits. Gotta clean the sand & spent grease out & reapply when it gets caked up with sand.

Correct the grease will collect the dirt and junk and will wear things quicker. I tend to run mine dry but if you do use grease you can find some dust caps to go over it all and seal it out for the most part.

Otherwise, like Pine said use a dry lube which will not collect the grease.

Lubing these parts will help keep them from wearing as fast. Like said if your using a wet lube that collects dust/grime it will wear faster if not kept clean.

I guess graphite lubricant would work good.

Were do you purchase cap covers?

Thank you
