My Roto start keeps failing n only works wen I bang or shake back of it were battery. Goes in n fastens it’s the hpi rotostart 2 wi 7.2v plazma battery I’ve took it apart seems good maybe battery coz original charger fell apart obvs ha n obvs replacement out of stock lol hpi must hate Xmas n only do stock jan
 
The tamiya plug on those rotostarts are known to have a bad connection, you have a couple options to start the truck and either change the tamiya plug to something like a deans ultra plug or similar. I have a couple rotostart units and don't even use those anymore to start my rig, I use a high speed drill to start all my nitros, simply chuck the wand into the drill and away you go, if you insist in using the roto unit just know that it will require a fully charged battery to work well and you can charge the battery with any NiMH charger available in lots of places online

Ye u rite bout Tamiya plugs remember goin fru all wiring on ma sons pw50 few yr ago coz kept cutting out took ages to find prob but w/o bad conection on Tamiya style plug so that wo ma first suspect n Avin to use ma power pal pocket 2 hump pack fast charger at min n that’s prob not even powerful snuff so gun buy a cheap 7.2 volt charger just so I’ve got working stuff if that fails it will b drill pal

I also had a bad connection on the plug and had to take it apart and fix it and at the same time I added this so when I press the button on the roto start, I also light up the glow plug without needing to carry an extra battery, just had to add a plug.

Nice I’ve got 1 them glowestarters masen but wiout the circuit board so any Battry over 2v blowes the glow plug av lot probs wi equipment at min were u based pal

I have a couple Savage Xs and a E Savage. I'm in US
 
I bought a couple of those same batteries for my e-savage, but they would not fit it either, like the rotostart (which I tried too) the sharp corners make it not fit. I have a spare rotostart. Maybe I'll give this a try so I can use those batteries, they are new just sitting on a shelf. Looks like a good idea
