Here is a wheelie bar I made from 3 old spur gears and the stock plastic roll bar.

1) Simply remove the middle of the stock roll bar by unscrewing the joining screw and sliding the outer piece away from the inner shaft

2) Drill the center hole of the 3 worn out spur gears slightly bigger so they fit over the center of the roll bar which you have just modified and test fit until you reach the correct width

3) Add 5mm of fuel pipe on the shaft either side of the wheelie wheel to limit side to side wobble, then epoxy resin bonded the three spurs to make one wide wheel. The epoxy step is optional

Hope people find this useful as I didn’t want to spend £30 on a store brought version as I have been eating spurs costing me wheelie bar money

P.s Do not lock your spur gear down unless you want a lot of worn spurs

Love that duct tape body, but shoo goo works much better to reinforce bodies before bashing.....
The Savage wheelie bar is only like 20 bux at A Main and other suppliers but I like your idea......

Owned the truck 3 weeks got it for £40 of a mate with a trashed shell and then I messed up the mesh so rather than buy a shell I have spent money on 3 spurs due to jumping to the typical savage owner advice (lock it down) never again.

That body is shattered but it’ll do for now

Had my Tamiya tt01 ten years brought the savage and now I’m hooked again.

My stable so far. (IKEA tables £5) perfect.

Lock what down??? I have run my slipper locked down for 3 plus years, if eating spurs is the problem then solve it by spending a few bux on a Robinson Racing Hard Steel spur and bell combo and never look back.....
and this is not your typical Savage owners advice, it is the TRUTH and nothing you can say will change that fact......
