well i think its different anyway,(please be kind this is my first mod and thread about it) but anyway i got this idea cause i wanted to do a mid tank mod but didn't want to have to move the servos. first thing i did was ask you guess what made the mod work in the first place to see if my idea would work. pretty much all your answers were placement of the tank (being higher than the Carb) and the tank itself (being even and level), so i bought an ofna 250cc fuel tank part #19504 and part #30287 (mounting posts) and my mind started turning that my mod could work.

My first attemp well Failed, cause i tried using the original mounting post from the old tank, it didn't work so what I'm showing is my second attemp.

first i bought a set of 90 degree angled mounting brackets (walmart) and attached them in the holes were the old tank mouts were pictured

then i bought a piece of sheet metal small piece from Ace hardware,(the reason it has holes cause its for bracing) i origianly bought a sheet of .125mm thick alunimum but found this and said that will work. i will save the other aluminum for somthing else. it was longer just a pic to show what it was.

then i cut the metal to size and did a test fit

then i cut it to shape so my body would fit and that it wasn't touching anything vidal. this was the first piece i messed this one up cause i made on of the holes to big but this is the basic shape. the 4 big holes starting at the bottom up were for attaching it to the brackets, and the 5th hole was for the tank post. i used one of the 4 holes for the other tank post.

after that i made the new piece and did a test fit of that worked and fit perfect had my second engine in as a replacement cause i still haven't got my engine back from AE

so as you can hopfully see in the pics the tank is higher than the carb and of coarse the even ness of the tank all in corporated I'm my mid tank mod. now i just need to test run it and see how it works if it works a couple coats of paint and I'm good. hope you liked, and remember its my first mod and my first post explaining what i did so be gental, lol hope i did well enough explaining what i did for you all to understand it.
