Different %age for break in?

i have a gallon of odonnell 20% that was i bought when i still had my f4.6 never used it can i use that to break in my new picco? then use the gallon of 30% byrons gen 2 to tune it thats the brand and percent i will be using to run it?

i just don't want it just sitting there and be a waste of money is all.

Almost sure its better and easier to use the same for breakin. Espessially if youre goin up to 30 after breakin. IMO Stick with 30 all th way. G ood luck..

it really doesnt matter what you break it in on 30%or 20%. as long as you retune when you switch fuels. i personaly would use the fuel with the higher oil content for break in. but thats just me.

Detonation is when the fuel explodes erratically instead of burning smoothly. It occurs when there is too much heat and compression in the combustion chamber. It is similar to preignition, but preignition is when the fuel ignites before the spark occurs because of a hot spot inside the combustion chamber.

I have never had it happen on a nitro engine (.28-.21) using 20,25 and 30 all in the same motors with Med plugs and no shim changes. I have also taken 1 shim out of my picco .28 using 30% when its said to add them... Go figure.

I ran my nova rossi on 10 20 25 and 30. Rossi said to break it in on 8% and not to run past 25%... BTW I don't use past 25 any longer. So as far as they are concerned its the way to do it (start low and step up)

oh ok thanks cause iv wanted to use it but i wasn't sure if i could or not cause iv always read and even the engine manufacture says to use the fuel you intend to use when you break in the engine, but now i know i can use up that 20 then just go with 30
