I keep losing the diff bearings. When they go, it usually ruins the bulkhead also... I've read all the shimming stuff and I know what I'm doing. However, I'm going to start each diff from scratch on the shimming this time to eliminate any carryover issues. I've always set-up the ring and pinions in our drag race cars (1:1) and never had a failure...

The original bearings in each Savage (3) lasted about 3 gallons before the first failures. I then replaced them with HPI packaged bearings. Another 2-3 gallons, then they failed. I recently replaced all diffs with Avid bearings. One truck didn't even last 1 gallon. I look at that I went with cheap bearings... So, I ordered and received some BOCA green seal. We'll see how that works.

I'm getting the trucks ready for the Feb 28th session that Whipnet and Sunkenmetal have set-up..... Can't have a truck break down during that session... If so, that's why I have 3 trucks and 2 drivers....

No troubles thus far. By now I would have blown a HPI brand or Avid brand.
