Ok so i just realized that I have been a member of this fourm for over two years now and have hardly ever posted any pics of my savage. This is far from a build thread, more of a break and fix thread. My savage is not used every day or every week, more like once or twice a year, sometimes more. So here is a little history of my 25 Savage.
Moved to SLC for a while for school, worked with a kid who thought he knew car audio. He had a Savage that rarely ever got used due to being broke all the time (him and the Truck). Well I got the bug after being around it a few times and had my eyes set on a new SS kit. Well he decided that he wanted part of the audio system that I had, and i told him that I would make a trade. I never knew he would go through with the deal. So a week after making the proposal i had the savage in hand. Played hard with the thing but never could get it to run right. I finished off the bottle of White Lighting that he had been using and went the the hobby store and picked up a different brand after talking to the guy and describing some of the problems i was having. So new fuel in hand i went home and beat the crap out of the truck. Everything was good to go.
Moved back to the South and set the truck up on the shelf for a couple of years until i got the itch again, still running the .25 HPI paper weight it never was right. About two years later I had my fill with the motor after it started pouring fuel from behind the fly wheel. Invested $230.00 or so into a LRP Z.28 and some new accessories to go with it.
A year later here we are, still starting on the third pull, and having a heck of a time keeping the nose on the ground.

So i have had the truck for a total of about 6 years and have ran it more in the last year with the new motor than the 5 years before combined. I will now attach some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Some have been posted before some haven't

The first three photos are before the new motor, and i mean right before. This was when it was on the work bench to get a new heart. The last image is of my attempt at led lights in the stock location, worked for a while until a bad landing killed my wiring. Lights are still there but not currently connected

Ok i know everyone warns people against using K&N filters as their savage as an air filter. Here is my fix for it, by no means is this the right way to go.

I DO NOT CONDONE THIS SET UP.

But here are the pics of how I did it.

First I cut about 1/2" or a little less length of tubing, along with the stock two pieces of foam.

First drop the the tubing in and make sure it is standing on end. I might go back and glue this in at a later time.

Next comes the bottom foam piece the circle piece.

Next is the big piece of foam piece of foam, notice that it protrudes a bit. This is what seals the the foam against the rubber grommet.

This is what it looks like assembled

Here is what happened today after some high speed passes on asphalt that did not end as intended.

Ok guys i have an update, no pictures at this moment in time.
1st the Savage is now sporting a FLM EXT chassis
2nd The savage now has funcitional head-lights that allow for night driving.

When i purchased the FLM i also got the set up to allow for me to do a mid tank down the road, for now i am taped out with Christmas and all, the main reason that i wanted to do a mid tank in the first place was to make the truck more drivable, as it was with the LRP it was constanly on its lid, i was unable to use most of the power that the mill has to offer due to flipping all the time. lol

So I got things back together with the new TVPs and took it out for a spin, man does she handle better or what. It was hard to tell exactly how much it has reduced the wheel stands, due to i was on grass with a ton of leaves on the top. This situation called for some serious drifting.
So after calling it good, i stepped back into the shop and decided to pick back up on my light project that i have been tinkering with over the past few weeks, and i was able to get the lights mounted in their buckets and to the bumper, the wiring from the servo box to the the front is still a mess but will be cleaned up when i decide on how to permeantly power the lights.

I am digging how bright the lights are on the stock 4 cell pack, but when you turn the wheels the lights dim abit. At some point I would like to change over to a hump pack, but at this time i do not have a charger.

Well out for a spin we go dark as ever, fire her up and do some slow speed passes in the front yard (porch light on) and relize that this is better than i expected. So after some warm up passes we head to the back yard with no lights from the house lighting up the yard, and i be darned if this bad boy doesnt light its own way.

More on the build later, please post any questions or comments.

Ok so i made two videos for my headlight set up, the first has uploaded and the second is starting its slow upload. so here you go.

yep, it would be so much better if i could edit my post, but the post above it has the link.

Also i have ordered a Motorsaver air filter for the savage, they are having a sale right now $10 plus $1 shipping.

Ok i have an update on my new video on my new light setup, along with some issues that have run into.

enjoy
