clutch shoes on?

well my siezed engine turned out to be my clutch shoes in pieces inside the bell housing. ( that explains it turning then stopping!LOL) iv taken the old shoes out but i cant seem to get the new ones back on. is there a trick to getting them back on or a tool or something? its driving me nuts here, HELP!!!
