Clutch Bell Came Loose

My clutch bell came loose! Is there a trick to easily remove the binder screw. It's really tight and it's hard for me to get a grip since the flywheel is spinning freely. Any idea why the CB is so loose? The binder screw is on real tight.

Are you talking about the screw that holds everything together? Heat it up over a lighter or soldering iron to loosen up the loctite.

i would be willing to bet the outer bearing came apart and is gone now. ???

Personally i've never had troubles getting the little screw off, but i would say heat it up like coby said, and then if you can find a hex head screw the same size to use in it instead, so it will be easier to remove next time without stripping the head out.

I personally like to use a cap screw for this purpose. They tend to have a bigger head (2.5mm is what I use) than a button screw or flat head so they don't strip easily and are easy to take off if stripped with pliers or a vice grip.

yeah! thanks for the vice grip tip. I just thought about it a moment ago!

I'd try heating up the screw first though if you haven't already. The vice grip should work on the binder screw though.
