Cleaning out gunk from fuel tank?

I bought a used savage with a bunch of gunk in the bottom of the tank. How do I clean it out? Can I soak the tank in water?

You could probably get some nitro cleaner in the arasol can and get it out but personally if its dirt and so on I would just replace it, The tanks are to expensive but you can see what you can clean out.

Would carb cleaner work?

Carb Cleaner will more than likely eat the plastic. I can't remember which eats it weather its Carb cleaner or Brake Clean.

What about rubbing alchohol? Hydrogen peroxide?

use hot water, just make sure once the tank is clean it drys fully before using it again..

i just use water and i make sure i let it dry really good before using it.

I used hot water in my old fuel bottle once and worked great
