CH 3 On/Off Button on HPI TF-40 Radio Issue

I installed an LED light kit and have it plugged into the channel 3 port on the receiver and powers the lights fine but the CH3 on/off button on the radio doesn't turn the power off on the receiver...any ideas?

You need to put a channel relay switch its availabe at hobbyking

Or if you have an old servo, gut it and remove the motor. Attach the led with the resistor to where the motor was.
