i thinking about switching my shocks to cen genises shocks but from what it looks like they make the truck sit lower, so my question is do they lower your truck

Yep...shorter shocks = lower truck 100% of the time, assuming you're not changing the mounting locations.

yup...if you use an aftermarket tower, like the Nova's or FLM's for instance, you can regain and height lost with their extra mounting positions...plus, it still allows you to drop your ride at any time, if you choose...

okay thanks for the info guys but i don't think I'm gonna go with cen shocks if there lower, what is a good set of shock that wouldn't lower my truck that i can beat the snot out of cuz i bash my truck pretty hard and have blown up stock shocks before and bent shock shafts

if your bending and blowing out stock shocks congradulations your doing some pretty hard bashing, the stock shocks are great. if you wanna upgrade the hot item right now is Hpi's new Big Bores check them out on hpi's site or their is a link on here. you could also convert your shocks to lst shocks those are pretty strong as well

i never bashed hard, and still blew out stockers...i just never learned to land right lol.

the lst's are nice, they lower the ride height a little bit, but not enough to make a difference in bashing. if your looking to go that way, check out innovative r/c. they have a kit with everything you need to convert to the lst shocks.

i have some pics of my truck before and after the lst conversion if you want to see them.

ya took my truck to my friends house and we have got a bit crazy with my savy and ended up taking some thick plywood and first jumping his brothers chevy S10 then his 8ft wide 10ft long and 10 ft high shed that we jumped with no landing ramp on concrete and was no soft landing and 3 of my back shocks blew and i bent the front ones but the truck went at least 20 feet in the air so it was no surprise, so I'm not a fan of the stock shocks but i don't think any hardcore basher is. but thanks for the info guys ill go check out the hpi and lst shocks and get back to all u guys with my final decision

i blow out stock shocks often but i stick with them cause parts to rebuild them are cheap and easy to get

I agree X25.....

I just ordered 4 of the cen shocks for now and then going to put another 4 on soon once I get them ordered, they do well for racing and I think they can still do ok for bashing.

(disclaimer: I'm not positive the following are for the CEN Genesis shocks, but they might be...haven't measured the shafts or springs to compare them...but I know the rebuild kit above is the correct one, as I have one in my spares box)

2 different length shock shafts:

How well do they hold up to your bashing jester?

I just got done from doing some jumps in the yard and busted a cap...need something that caps done bust off of...

Holding up great I run 8 so..

Only problem I have is the caps comming loose on me .. I fixed this by putting some thread tape on the threads
