Castle Link?

I used the castle link for the first time today it's very easy to use, but there are I few things I don't quite understand. Whats the difference between proportional w/ reverse lockout and forward to brake to reverse? Whats start power? arming time? and throttle dead band? I want to get it toned down as much as I can. I left the stuff I don't understand at default.

I used the following settings,
brake 40%
reverse 25%
punch 100%
drag brake 0%
start time- low?
motor timing- lowest
motor type- bl
arming time- 1.5sec?
cut off voltage- auto
throttle dead band- avg 1000ms?
throttle curve- 70% trigger to half throttle
brake curve- linear/default

I know the arming time is how long it takes the esc to be ready. If you have a aftermarket radio you can set it a little later to give the radio time to bind. I have mine set to 2sec because I'm running a spektrum in mine. As far as the start power I believe its how much power is sent to the motor when the truck first starts to move. I know if you click on the little (?) next to the settings it will explain what they do. I hope this helps.
