Carb replacement on my savage 4.6

Can I use a 21j slide carb on my savage 4.6 will it run on it like it should?

Should be able to use it. Power wise I would think it would be down a little. Try it.

Place both side by side and compare, the needle length maybe different. Not a usual part to replace, what's wrong with it?

Tore up the sleeve that goes around the bottom of carb that goes in the engine any idea's

If you mean the rubber boot that protects the carb barrel from dust then they it should fit. A split boot shouldnt cause running problems.

No we're the carb slides into the motor there is a metal sleeve around the carb that was stuck to the block it did not come off with the carb I had to pry it out after I got the carb out
