Hey guys, quick question, my carb is sticking when i push it all the way in to the point that the servo doesnt have the power to open it up, its pretty tough to pull it open again. are they supposed to lock in place or does it need stripping down and cleaning? cheers

Take it apart and see why it is sticking for sure, the slide is supposed to move easily in the bore.....

yea it moves fine, but when it gets pushed closed it sticks and wont open unless you pull it hard

is that the one from the left side, the right side where the carb opens up, or the top one?

perfect btw, didnt even know about the ISS, just screwed it in slightly and its stopped sticking. looks to be open about 1-1.5mm, that right?

secondly, whats the best way to tune it. i dunno what the standard settings are for the HSN and LSN. trucks a savage 21 (i think), engine is a k4.6

Idle speed screw.

well i got 4 screws on mine. i got the HSN at the top and the idle screw on the side at an angle, then at one side of the carb where the rubber thing is i got the LSN, but theres also a screw on the opposide side to the LSN, is that just for getting the piston out?

yea, ill try tune it tomorrow once ive cleaned it up a bit, i did have a go at work but i couldnt get it to idle and pull away properly without stalling. might have been the idle screw out too far maybe

The screw opposite the LSN, under the HSN is the mid-range needle. This should be flush with the casing and left alone. It can be adjusted, but most leave it alone.

It adjusts the seat for the LSN, so you basically move the inlet where the fuel comes into the carb. Adjusting it also adjusts your LSN in the similar manor, but it messes with the air/fuel flow down the throat. As GAJ noted, most set it flush and leave it alone.

when i put that flush its loose to the point that it would just fall out, when i tighten it all the way up it slowly gets tight til its snug so thats where ive left it atm.

tried to fire it up today, had to throw fuel down the glow plug hole again and it just aint running right. its firing up, then going wild, some crazy revs, then cutting out, I'm just gonna take it to a model shop i think and get them to sort it as tbh i dunno what I'm doing lol
