Well I was out breaking in my motor today actually running on the 5th tank just starting to tune it a little bit. This is an a Picco .28 the new version with plastic carb.

Anyhow did a little run by on down the street then went to turn around hit the brakes and went to go and bring it back to me to get a temp. Pulling the throttle it would only hit very low RPM. It picked up enough to roll back to me at about 5mph but thats it. Got it back to me about 40ft. Looked at it and the servo would only pull the Slide out like 1/16".

Played with the linkages pulling on them to see if I could get it out but no its like it's hitting a stop. I then pulled the carb out of the truck to find it not to slide out any further. I pulled the idle screw out thinking it would clear it up but nothing didn't make a difference other than I could spin the slid 360* with out a problem but will in any direction stop at the same spot.

Has anyone seen this before??

It also seems the LSN is stuck once it comes out so far. It turns easy then like it hits a sudden halt as well.

I never took the carb a part and engine was running great.

Alright, well I got it apart. Took the LSN and Idle screw out and got it a part with a little work. Seems Picco is getting sloppy with there work. With the scratch (Tool Drag) in the Crankcase and now this. Check it out:

Not sure what I can do about this?

Are you sure that didn't happen when you pulled the barrel out? With a mark like that the barrel should not have moved to begin with. You could try and touch up the rough edges with a diamond bit and clean it up with a polishing bit. Hope you get it figured out, good luck.

The mark was there front the beginning. Most of it is flush or is not burred up the only stop is is the spot toward the right side at the very end. The only way I got it out was to turn it and it walked out. The groove in the barrel for the Idle screw was over this spot as well.

The shape of the barrel which I can photograph later allows the back of it to hit that area and stop. It is very evident that that is what it is hitting on.

Its just weird that if worked for a while and then all the sudden didn't. The only thing I can think of is that there was enough oil from factory assembly that it gave enough gap to clear that and slide by it and after being run for a bit the oil dissipated allowing it to hit it. once the barrel slid out 1/8" from fully closed and turned in the right direction it actually slid out very easily.

I have the body here at work and will check with the machine shop and see if they have a ream the correct size and if so it will knock the burr off and should work fine. Which would save me the 2 weeks from dinking with Picco. But will see. If not I will contact Picco.

PS Bank this is the end where the the Barrel slides into.

No I meant the mark in it.

I have a carb body if you need one LMK. stock 8mm like that one off my picco I just did. It has 3/4 gal threw it but is like new.

Alright just so its easier to see what I am getting at and why its hitting where I am talking. Sorry for the crappy picture as it was taken with my cell phone.

The Red arrow is where it hits or where the barrel changes size and the Blue is where the scratch is. You can see the front of the barrel is about placed exactly where it is supposed to with the ~1mm gap for idle. You can also see there is about 1/16" this barrel will slide until it hits the burr and stops.
