Hey Guys ...I'm not sure why I cannot get my clutch to bite.....I'm on my second set of shoes...I have removed the clutch bell ..prepped the inside ..cleaned with brake clean ....even scuffed up the shoe ...and it still slips... I'm not sure but I think it has something to do with heat build up ..I'm running hardened steel spur and bell ...the gears are aligned perfectly ..just a slight little play ...after a tank ..the bell is so freaking hot will melt your finger nail..(yeah my finger still hurts) is this heat normal ...

Edit -- my slipper is tight as it can go ...for testing purpose ..it also has a new pad ...

Nope your sliper is set way too loose imo, causeing the clutch to work but the spur is basicly not cinched down to transfer the power....it's a start

What shoes are you running? What springs are you running? and is in assembled in the correct direction?

You should think about aluminum shoes and Mugen or other 0.9 or 1.0mm Springs.

Also, what is your engine temps? I also agree with Jcam lock the slipper till you solve the problem as it could be the colperate. Weather it's whats slipping and creating the heat or not.

I locked the slipper...and it was still slipping ...I sprayed some brake clean inside the bell ...grabs very well now...I guess there was some water ..or maybe nitro inside causing it to slip ...thanks for the advice guys.. but I think I will upgrade the shoes and springs here pretty quick ...

Is it possible that you are getting oil/nitro fuel into the bell area from the front crank bearing leaking? Now that you've cleaned that area, keep an eye on it.
