So a couple of days ago I tried to start my Savage 4.6 and it wont crank at all
Thought it was a one way bearing failure but opened it up to see that it was nitro start

So I opened it up more and discovered that there was no starting pin on the bottom of the cone rod?

Can the starting pin and pressure spring just come off like that? I did eventually found the starting pin but the spring seems nowhere to be seen

Do I have to take the full engine apart to find the spring? Is it possible its still in the connecting rod? How would I take it out if its broke in there?

thanks

I found it! Turns out it was compressed so much inside the hole that I couldn't see it at first
Thanks for the help
