Can I run my diffs dry?

May seem like a silly question....can I run my diffs with no oil/grease/anything? How would it perform? I know losi has some new smart diff where it uses springs instead of oil. Basically what can I expert if I run em dry?

You will unload all your power constantly. Seems like a bad idea not to have any lub either.
