I just recently burned out my steering servo to the point where the connector for my hump pack was getting hot from it, my battery level indicator also became Fubar'ed from the short. I'm seeing a short on the servo any possible reason for this? I just replaced the servo with the Hitec HS-7955TG, but I'd like to verify what the problem was before I put the new servo in.:loveford:

if it is toasted then i would pull the casing off and check to see whats going on inside. could possibly have been a faulty solder joint. or a short in the winding of the motor inside the servo. couldn't say for sure with out inspection

if it's toast and still under warranty i wouldnt touch it.
contact hitech and see what they will do for you.
opening it will void the warranty.
make sure you didn't pinch any wires. thats the main couse of problems like this.

I never thought about the warranty, I'll try Hitec and see what they say. I appreciate the feedback guys this site is the best!!

I made the mistake of turning off my raido and letting the fails safe kick in for around 15 mins. I went in the store and left it out on the track table. It cooked it all too. The case was deformed a bit from the heat and the whole job smelt like a electrical fire... Airtronics sent me a new one.

Hitec has a 1yr warranty. I just sent 4 back that had burnt out over the last couple months. Problem is they want a receipt. I dropped mine at my LHS and paid them shipping to take care of it. I would suggest trying that route as well.
