In my opinion metal is not a good idea, the purpose of this part is to flex with impacts and crashes
 
But as soon as it tips over it breaks straight away this has happened before. (At the joint where it is screwed to the bumper)

Exactly as Mvtepixels says will bend out of shape as no flex & energy will be taken up on something else!
What are you jumping 6ft in air, even when I was racing I never broke these parts, is it newer bumper posts you are breaking or original type?

I was on grass and i simply accelerated too hard and flipped the car over. Its at the joint where the `prong` goes into the bumper. Will get a picture when i can..
 
You can put a bigger screw in there like I did, those won't break

I think they use small screws they need to use bigger ones.
