BuKu Pipe for 5.9

Well i was looking at buku pipes for my 5.9..... i wasnt sure if it would work so i emailed them and got a very nice reply from dave at buku power...

"I am working on a setup for the 5.9 right now. I will know if the existing Big Block Buku is suitable hopefully within the next week or so...

i've never done business with dave at buku but have heard nothing but good things about him and the customer service he provides and all who try the buku love it so i cant wait to see a buku on the 5.9 it will fly!!!!

Dave is first class. John Schultz runs a buku on his small block savage. I think dave did some testing on the 5.9 at the world finals. we also put one on the hpisf truck with the 5.9.

Hello, I use a CEN 7.7 pipe. It looks kind of strange but it works great.

That engine is in serious need of a better tune. 275 is too hot for any engine IMO.......
Both pipes sound like it is not quite right, course he did not say how old the engine is either.....

Even tho it does show the diff between a stock and a cen exhaust. Seems much better with the cen to me.

In general the Cen seems the better based on the video as is. But yeah as Jam mentioned 275 is hot considering the ground isn't that restrictive. I get 270 on really thick grass If I run on it. Engine sounds rich overall so tuff to call....but if he didn't make any adjustments on tune...then the Cen seemed to work better.
After a good tune...I'm sure lots can be seen.

That engine is in serious need of a better tune. 275 is too hot for any engine IMO.......
Both pipes sound like it is not quite right, course he did not say how old the engine is either.....

Some engines may run good at 275°, each engine had their own characteristics. Fuel, pipe, age, and tune determine engine heat, nitro engines prefer to run on the lean side either way.

the header pipe I have on my Savage is not branded so I don't know if it is HPI or what, but with the Axial .32 I have in the truck it works well enough for my style which is just having fun and bashing around.... I got my truck as a box of parts from a member here and the chassis is a mix of Savage new and old mixed in.... the engine was included as was the exhaust system so I have no idea what it was originally for....most of my engines run about 240 to 260 depending on weather conditions and state of tune.. rarely do I like them to get over that as I feel it accelerates wear and shortens their lives a bit.....

But that's what makes the hobby fun for me is there is always differing thoughts as to what works and what doesn't or why does this happen when I do this etc.....
as always I just try to get the most fun I can it doesn't matter which rig I happen to be running at the time.....

Cool videos, try lowering your idle, they sound very high, and top end sounds too lean too my friend 🙂
